Stuart Kirby possesses more than twenty years of experience in strategic integrated communications, brand public relations as well as consumer lifestyle marketing. A native of Chicago, Stuart holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, with distinguished honors from Loyola University. Kirby began his career with Bloomingdale’s, where he gained his first professional foothold in the fashion retail industry, overseeing International Marketing for the New York City flagship retailer. Moving agency-side to gain strategic communications and media relations experience, Stuart secured the role of Senior Account Executive with a world leading PR firm, Hill & Knowlton, working on such blue chip client accounts as Corona, AT&T, Banana Republic, Jim Beam, The Gap, Alzheimer’s Association and Michael Jordan.

Stuart joined the ranks of Diageo in 1999 and from this time onward, worked in several of the company’s offices in the US, Latin America as well as the UK for the next 15 years. Working broadly across all three adult beverage categories – beer, wine & spirits – he has gained intimate experience heading up consumer communications and lifestyle brand marketing for some of the world’s most iconic adult beverage brands, including: Appleton Estate, Baileys, Beaulieu Vineyards, Captain Morgan, Cîroc, Guinness, Heineken, J&B, Johnnie Walker, Jose Cuervo, Ketel One, Malibu, Red Stripe, Smirnoff, Stolichnaya, Tanqueray and Zacapa.

Stuart spent the first half of his career with Diageo North America in several roles of escalating importance and responsibility, until being appointed to the position of National Director of PR, Events & Sponsorship, overseeing all creative and strategic brand communications. In 2005, Kirby transferred to Latin America & the Caribbean where he was promoted to the role of Pan-regional Head of Communications, overseeing all media relations efforts, consumer brand PR as well as corporate communications throughout all 50 countries that comprise this emerging region. In 2009, Stuart acquired the dual role responsibility of overseeing global brand communications for Zacapa, then the world’s leading ultra-premium rum. Up until his departure in 2014, Kirby served as the most tenured member of the global Diageo communications team, receiving industry awards and professional accolades from the likes of PR Daily, SABRE, ISC, PR News, OAS, Addy, PMA and PRSA.

Recruited to the senior ranks of the world’s leading PR firm, Edelman, Kirby was appointed to the role of SVP/Group Head of the agency’s consumer marketing practice in the San Francisco/Bay Area, leading such iconic consumer brands as Pabst, eBay, Ghirardelli, Gruppo Campari, Microsoft, Xbox and Starbuck’s.

In 2015, Stuart was attracted by the world’s leading wine supplier, E&J Gallo, where he served as Director and Department Head within Marketing Communications overseeing Media, Promotion & Partnership. Promoted a few years later, Kirby’s oversight expanded to include Consumer & Lifestyle Marketing focused on a portfolio of leading wine and spirits brands across 5 business units.

Stuart’s greatest passion in life is to make a profound impact on those around him and in his community. Anchored to the belief that “with great opportunity, comes an equal measure of responsibility,” Kirby has pioneered, and participated in numerous humanitarian efforts in local communities as well as throughout the Americas. Stuart currently lives outside of San Francisco with his wife, Maria, and their 2 daughters, Gabriela & Cloe.
