A timeline of the Cannabis laws and regulations in Trinidad & Tobago
1925: Marijuana was criminalized in Trinidad and Tobago
November 2019: Cannabis Control Bill 2019 is introduced and seeks to provide for the regulatory control of the handling of cannabis for certain purposes, the establishment of the Trinidad and Tobago Cannabis Licensing Authority.
December 2019: Dangerous Drugs Amendment of 2019 went into effect, decriminalizing posession of up to 30 grams of marijuana, up to 5 grams of cannabis ‘resin’ (including hash, concentrates. etc.) and cultivation up to 4 plants for personal use in Trinidad and Tobago.
