DOUGLAS K. GORDON
Douglas is a seasoned entrepreneur and the founder of the CanEx Jamaica Business Conference & Expo, which has been recognized for playing a pivotal role in advancing the cannabis industry in Jamaica. He is also the founder of OCEAN Style, a luxury lifestyle Caribbean brand encompassing print, electronic, broadcast and digital publishing. Through OCEAN Style TV, the brand has showcased Caribbean luxury lifestyles to over 90 million households worldwide and is often associated with high-end events that attract celebrities to the island. Douglas also applies his extensive entrepreneurship, sales and marketing experience as Chairman of Zimmer & Co.
Andrew Forrester is founder and CEO of marketing firm FIC Global Advisors based in Palm Beach, Florida, which became the official marketing firm for the CanEx Jamaica Business Conference & Expo in 2018. He oversees the development, execution and growth strategies for CanEx Jamaica including marketing, sales, venue management and logistics. Born and raised in Jamaica, Andrew has 23 years of sales and marketing experience having held senior management positions in global sales, marketing and strategic alliances at B2B technology and conference event companies.
With over 30 years of experience in project management and sales, Tim is in charge of business development for CanEx Jamaica. He is also CEO at Platinum Technology, a professional IT services company, and is a strategic advisor for federal government business development projects. He previously served as Director of Federal Sales for WildPackets, Inc. In the last 10 years, he has focused on the delivery of CIP (Critical Information Protection) and CIIP (Critical Information Infrastructure Protection) solutions to the government and international financial institutions. Tim also served as Project Manager for Naval Air System Command Cruise Missile Project (ConPtract Number: N00019-91-C0-0131). A current and active member of InfraGard, his tactical market focus is working with system integrators focused on delivering public sector information security and healthcare data protection.
GEORGETA “GETA” BOCȘE
Geta manages strategy execution and the day-to-day details of CanEx Jamaica, overseeing the team and every aspect of the event. She is also Director of Client Relations for FIC Global Advisors, manages events for the firm’s EU-based operations and assists in implementing marketing automation solutions to help clients increase exposure, gain better insights and optimize their ROI. She also carries out various research projects for clients including news monitoring, business intelligence research, RFP search, and more. Geta has been part of the FIC Global Advisors team since 2014, bringing a strong background in print and broadcast media. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a Master’s degree in Communication.
Nico is responsible for managing and directing all aspects of social media marketing for CanEx Jamaica. She is also Marketing Communications Manager for FIC Global Advisors. With more than seven years of experience in brand strategy, project management, digital and social media marketing, content development, and search engine optimization (SEO), she has vast knowledge of a range of business challenges and ideologies in culturally contrasting environments. Nico previously held various marketing and project management positions at technology companies, media and event firms, and transportation entities in Europe.
Debora plays a vital role in CanEx Jamaica’s marketing promotion initiatives. As Marketing and Content Development Manager for FIC Global Advisors, she identifies and applies the right marketing automation tools to meet specific client requirements and deliver the best results. She has more than 15 years of experience working in various sectors including IT, ITES and BPO. She started her career with a document management outsourcing provider and held marketing positions at software and technology companies. Debora has a Master’s degree in Commerce and an Honors Diploma in Systems Management.
Content and Communications
Christie oversees content development for CanEx Jamaica’s website, marketing campaigns and public relations activities. She has more than 25 years of marketing, public relations and content management experience in the global B2B technology arena. She is president of Curreri Marketing & Media, a marketing agency based in Connecticut serving growing technology and local businesses, and frequently assists FIC Global Advisors with marketing and content development strategies for global clients.
Content and Communications
Dawn manages quality control for all of CanEx Jamaica’s content and communications. As VP of Communications at FIC Global Advisors for the past 10 years, she directs the design and implementation of internal and client-facing communications, and curates and edits content for web, newsletters and other collateral. She also focuses on facilitating international conference attendance and trade missions, as well as providing organization and support for groups who participate in matchmaking events in the U.S. and overseas. Born and raised in Jamaica, Dawn has a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (DipEd). Prior to joining FIC Global Advisors, she was CEO of Aurora Fae Writers for 15 years and served on the faculty at Kirkwood Community College for 18 years.
Website and Digital
Iulian oversees the design, development, management and maintenance of the CanEx Jamaica website, and works on e-mail campaign development. He has more than seven years of experience in web design and illustration, project management, creative direction and online advertising, and over 10 years of experience in copy typing, transcribing and copywriting. Prior to joining FIC Global Advisors as Manager of Digital Design & Marketing Automation, Iulian worked as a copy typing transcriber, copywriter and art director for various European media and advertising firms.
Ayman provides marketing administration and event support for CanEx Jamaica including onboarding conference speakers and sponsors. She has eight years of administrative experience and has been a part of the CanEx Jamaica team since its inception. Previously, she was a service desk engineer for a technology company where she provided day-to-day customer support. She has a B.S. in Bio-informatics (with Honors) from COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (IIT).
Edgar helps manage the website and other technical infrastructures for CanEx Jamaica.
Zameer has 13 years of experience as a graphic designer, having worked for eight years as a senior graphic designer with an international award-winning healthcare advertising agency. He is a graduate of C.C.S. Meerut University in India.
FLORENCE CARL MONTEBON
Sales and Marketing Support
Florence coordinates CanEx Jamaica’s sponsor and exhibitor sales efforts and ensures goals are met. She also partly manages the company’s social media accounts and contributes marketing and sales ideas to the team.
ADRIANNA DANIELLA GRENADE
Administration and Job Fair
Adrianna is a student currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Entertainment and Cultural Enterprises Management with a minor Geology at the University of the West Indies, Mona. She is currently serving as an intern for CanEx Jamaica where she assists with administrative activities and organizing the CanEx Job Fair.
